KYMI tells you all there is to know about Motorola's affordable new offering, the Moto G

Motorola's budget offering Moto G is almost here and boy, does it have a lot to offer its users. The handset is expected to be officially unveiled in India in the coming week, on February 5, and a recent listing on Flipkart confirms that the phone will start retailing immediately after its launch.
The Moto G is advertised on Flipkart with the teaser, 'Exceptional Phone. Exceptional Price.' and is listed as 'coming soon'. The Flipkart teaser also reads, 'Watch this space for upcoming offers...Buy a Motorola Moto G on the day of launch to avail incredible offers.' Flipkart seems to be the launch partner for the handset; details about when the phone will hit other online retailers and stores are still scarce. Specifications about the phone's wider availability will be known once it is officially launched in the country.
With all that it packs in, the Moto G is considered by some to be Motorola's big come-back device in the entry level and mid-range segment. A phone designed for emerging markets like India and China, the handset offers users all the functionality of the latest Android operating system at an inexpensive price point. In that sense, it is expected to give offerings from both multinationals like Samsung and home grown manufacturers like Micromax a tough run for their money.
The best things about the Moto G? Even though it carries Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, it has already been updated to Android 4.4 KitKat - at least in some markets. In fact, it was one of the first devices to receive the upgraded platform and has long been in the limelight for all the functional tweaks Android 4.4 KitKat offers it. Since it comes with a purer build than most other Android handsets save the Nexus line-up, the Moto G specially appeals to those users who don't like manufacturers' UIs on their devices. All in all, the Moto G offers the best of the Android eco system at a very affordable price point.
Motorola's latest creation is powered by a 2,070 mAh battery and a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. It carries Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box but it should receive the version 4.4 KitKat build soon.
